Parlo Translator Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 29, 2026
Last Updated: September 29, 2026
Parlo Translator (the “App”) is provided by Fuzhou Chengfei Network Technology Co., Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the App and how to contact us about your privacy choices.
The App offers text, voice, camera, and conversation translation. The information processed depends on the feature you choose:
· Text translation: Text you type or paste, your selected languages, and the resulting translation.
· Voice and conversation translation: Audio you choose to record, recognized speech or transcripts, selected languages, and translated text. Conversation mode may process speech from each participant whose voice is captured.
· Camera translation: Images you capture with the camera, the text identified in those images, selected languages, and translated text. Images may contain personal information beyond the words you intend to translate; review an image before submitting it.
· Text playback: The text you select for spoken playback and related language or voice settings are processed to generate audio output.
We use this information to provide the feature you request. Translation, speech recognition, and speech playback may involve services outside the App. Avoid submitting sensitive information unless you are comfortable with the processing needed for your request.
Copying translated text places that text on your device’s clipboard at your direction. Other apps or services may access clipboard content according to your device settings and their own practices.
· Microphone: Used when you choose voice or conversation translation to capture speech. You can decline or withdraw microphone access through your device settings; features requiring audio capture will then be unavailable.
· Camera: Used when you choose to capture an image for translation. You can decline or withdraw camera access through your device settings; camera translation will then be unavailable.
Granting permission gives the App access required for the selected feature; it does not, by itself, establish that content stays on your device. Section 3 describes the recipients of any content transmitted for processing once the actual implementation has been confirmed.
We share information with the following service providers when you use the corresponding translation features.
Parlo Translator uses Baidu Translate to provide online translation. The information sent depends on the feature you use:
· Text translation: The text you submit and your source and target language settings.
· Voice and conversation translation: Transcribed speech and language settings.
· Camera translation: Text recognized from a photo you take and language settings.
· Image translation: The captured or cropped image, recognized text, and language settings.
Baidu Translate may also receive your IP address as part of the network connection. This information is transmitted to provide the translation you request.
Parlo Translator uses Apple’s Speech framework for voice and conversation translation. Depending on your device, language, and system configuration, audio may be processed on your device or sent to Apple’s servers. When you request a translation, the resulting transcribed text is sent to Baidu Translate to generate the requested translation.
If analytics or crash reporting is enabled, the App or its providers may process information such as app interactions, crash reports, device model, operating system version, app version, and network-related technical information to maintain and improve the App. Technical data may be associated with identifiers depending on the actual SDK configuration. Confirm the enabled SDKs, data fields, and whether data is linked to users before publication.
Content selected for translation is processed to return a result. Whether source content, audio, images, transcripts, translated results, or logs are stored, and for how long, depends on the App’s implementation and the providers identified in Section 3.Locally stored information remains until removed and that provider-held data follows provider terms; it also gives a specific Apple retention claim that must be verified against the applicable Apple service and current settings. Insert Parlo’s verified retention periods or clear criteria for each category before publication.
You may remove content stored locally through available App controls, if provided, or by deleting the App, subject to your device’s backup settings. Deleting the App does not automatically delete information already transmitted to a service provider. To ask about information held by us or request deletion where applicable, contact us at the address in Section 11. We may retain information when required by law or for a legitimate security or legal need, for only as long as necessary for that purpose.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information we process. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. Please consider the sensitivity of text, speech, and images before using a translation feature.
Our service providers may process information in a country or region different from yours. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use appropriate safeguards. Confirm provider locations and the applicable transfer arrangements before publication.
The App is not specifically directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the request and take action required by applicable law. If the App is directed to children or has a different age design, this section must be revised accordingly.
You choose whether to enter text, record audio, or take a photo for translation. You can withdraw camera and microphone permissions in your device settings, although the corresponding features may then stop working.
Depending on your location and applicable law, including the GDPR where applicable, you may request access to, correction or deletion of, or a copy of personal information we hold. You may also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. Contact us to exercise these rights; we may need to verify your request. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Where a legal basis is required, processing needed to provide a requested translation feature may be based on performance of a contract; optional processing may rely on consent; and limited diagnostics and security processing may rely on legitimate interests, where permitted.
We may update this policy when the App’s features, providers, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last Updated” date and provide any additional notice required by law. Material changes to processing will not be applied retroactively without any notice or choice required by applicable law.
